I. Project background: High-performance ventilation units create demand for thicker filters in non-standard sizes
The client for this project is a Shanghai-based HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) company that is upgrading the central air conditioning system of a large local commercial complex. The ventilation units of the facility are designed to work with large volumes of air, while the air coming from the street contains a significant amount of poplar fluff, dust and solid particles; the initially installed standard filters (70 or 96 mm thick) turned out to be insufficiently effectivePanel filter class G4  There were serious shortcomings: insufficient volume of filter material, limited dust holding capacity and rapid clogging, due to which filters had to be changed on average twice a month. Such frequent maintenance not only increased the cost of purchasing consumables, but also led to short-term interruptions in ventilation in public areas of the shopping center.
Having studied the solutions available on the market, the customer requested a customized option: maintaining the standard G4 filtration class while increasing the total filter thickness to 150 mm. This would increase the volume of filter material and dust capacity, as well as extend the service life of the product before replacement. The design involved the use of an aluminum alloy frame that was compatible with the existing seats, eliminating the need for significant modifications to the housings of the ventilation units. Our technical specialists have developed and prepared for mass production and delivery a special panel pre-filter of class G4 with a thickness of 150 mm, taking into account the air flow parameters, the level of dust at the site and installation dimensions.

Under the same dust conditions, dust capacity increases by 65%; The on-site replacement interval increases from one month to 2.5–3 months, which significantly reduces the frequency of equipment shutdowns for maintenance and reduces labor costs.
2. Stable G4 class filtration efficiency, suitable for supply air pre-treatment
Thanks to the use of bulk polyester fiber with a gradient density, the filter always meets the G4 standard. It effectively captures poplar fluff, hair, sand and large dust particles. Acting as the primary protective barrier in central air conditioning systems, the filter reliably protects downstream medium-efficiency filters and extends the service life of the entire ventilation and filtration system.
3. Reinforced aluminum alloy frame ensures strength and resistance to deformation
The design includes a specially designed bent aluminum alloy frame of increased width and thickness, offering high compressive strength, moisture resistance and structural stability. The filter can withstand long-term operation under high pressure conditions without frame deformation or peeling of the filter material. The dimensions of the frame exactly correspond to the mounting locations of the equipment, which allows for direct installation without the use of additional sealing elements.
4. Low drag design reduces air conditioning system energy consumption
The filter media uses a progressive density structure that optimizes air passages while increasing media volume.
